Hi.  My name is Rebecca McMann, and I create photography-based abstract art.  Welcome to my online home.  I invite you to come in, learn more about me and my work, and emabrace the joy of my strange and beautiful art.

As I move through the world, I observe and photograph things that inspire me – generally elements of flowers and common objects.  In my digital darkroom, I transform these photographs into abstract images alive with texture, pattern, color, shape and undulating lines.  My aim is ostrananie: “encouraging people to see common things as strange, wild, or unfamiliar, defamiliarizing what is known in order to know it differently or more deeply.”  I find this sort of abstraction intriguing.

May you as well!

"My wife loved the picture.  It is a truly unique and beautiful piece of art.  Thank you!"  Jeffrey Alpart, PA USA

Description from Merchant:

The HD Metal Prints are printed by dye sublimation. This process actually impresses the dyes into the aluminum using heat and pressure. The result will last for generations and is the most durable and long-lasting of any current photographic process. HD Metal Prints are moisture and scratch resistant and can be cleaned with glass cleaner. Brushed Aluminum Prints are printed directly onto 1/8" thick brushed dibond aluminum with UV inks that are resistant to fading.
